SCT's History

Singing from a 25 foot tall Christmas tree decorated with thousands of lights and real pine boughs, a choir of over 60 vocalists brings the Singing Christmas Tree to life each December. The choir is accompanied by a live orchestra – and a heartwarming story is presented by the drama team. Over 50,000 people have attended the an
altnual production that has quickly become Pembroke and area’s most loved Christmas celebration.

Pembroke’s Singing Christmas tree began in 1994 and has been an annual tradition ever since. Up until 2010, three performances were held every year with over one thousand people in attendance each night. Beginning in 2011, The Singing Christmas Tree added a fourth performance due to the overflow crowds experienced in preceding years. Visitors are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to ensure that a good seat can be obtained.

There is no charge to attend the Singing Christmas Tree; however, non-perishable food items are accepted prior to the production. These donations are then distributed to our local food banks to aid them in providing provisions to those in need during this busy season. Countless visitors have commented that this production is the event that ‘begins’ their Christmas season.

We hope to see you this year at the 2011 Singing Christmas Tree!
